Building your firm’s site is not as hard as it seems. Here’s 5 step process to building a great looking site:
Step 1: Prepare a list of things you want to include on your site. Here’s a good start:
- Contact information
- Location
- About page
- Pictures of all the attorneys at the firm
- Header image (please don’t post another courthouse, gavel or scales of justice)
- Use unsplash.com to find great images you can use for free
- Practice area(s)
- Contact us form
Step 2: Pick a domain name
- check if it’s available on GoDaddy.com
- if it’s not, try to find something close, but keep it short and easy to remember
Step 3: Pick a website builder. Here are great options:

- creates great mobile pages
- you can purchase the domain (if it’s available) directly through the site
Weebly (very similar to Squarespace)

Step 4: Build the site you want using their tools and get feedback.
- Always have someone test run your brand new site to make sure everything works
- Fix any bugs
Step 5: Share everywhere! Promote your site on social media:
- Create a Facebook page for your firm (instructions coming soon)
- Create a Twitter account & start tweeting about your areas of law
- Create a LinkedIn account for your firm or simply share it in your own profile
